about
From Film School "EP", coming summer 2019 on Hauskat Records.
lyrics
I don’t know what’s inside of her it glows at night
I can be beside of it and feel it’s alright
All alone I cared about some thoughts I couldn’t hold
Figured out I’m a part of it that keeps me tight
Go, but not too far
Be, but not a star
Sing, but nothing more
Than we can be
There’s a side a side of this that I keep alive
It’s a break from the rest of it that you know I hide
Out tonight I found the same fare that’s bought and sold
Just another sentimental take that’s sounding right
And you know the way I go, the music’s changing
And you know the way I go, nothing’s changed
Go, but not too far
Be, but not a star
Sing, but nothing more
Than we can be

Shoegaze ist die Kunst des Dröhnens, doch „Everything Is Alive“ setzt diese Elemente nur sparsam ein. Statt Hall- und Zerr-Sounds aufzutürmen, schäumt die Musik in feinen Bläschen über.

I bought Drowned in a Sea of Sound the day it was released, and it is one of my dearest possessions. I followed their blogspot and hung dearly onto any word, for all 10 years, afraid they'd never release another album. But here they are, as though they'd never left. The Daysleepers have the sonic beauty of Slowdive, the haze of Bloody Valentine, and the vocals of Airiel and Cocteau Twins, yet I prefer them over all the above. This album was well worth the wait. Entirely analog, lush melodic pop with a tender heart from L.A. artist Human Barbie sounds bigger than the bedroom project it is. Bandcamp New & Notable Oct 22, 2020
